Ability to Remove Custom Column Headings in Query Output

In Raiser's Edge Query, we currently have the ability to edit a column heading in the Output tab. However, there is no way to remove a custom heading once it has been added. The only workaround is to delete the field from the Output section entirely and then re‑add it.

It would be extremely helpful to have an option to clear or remove a custom column heading directly, similar to how we can add or edit one. If we can add a custom heading, it would be ideal to have the corresponding ability to remove it as well.

This enhancement would simplify workflow, reduce clicks, and help ensure cleaner and more consistent query outputs.

Thank you for considering this improvement!

Thanks for the suggestion! I'd recommend posting this to the RENXT Idea Bank here so we can prioritise it against the other query suggestions: https://community.blackbaud.com/categories/blackbaud-raiser-s-edge-nxt-ideas.

While there isn't a single-click "revert to original column heading" button, you should be able to manually change it back to the original heading without removing the field. But please do add it to the raiser's edge nxt ideas bank so we can gauge overall user need and consider it appropriately.
