Hi there Kevin,
The url is indeed complex. We have to add lots of important data and parameters into that url in order to serve so many different aspects of the checkout flow. Payment types, referrer, amount, location etc so we have to maintain that level of information I'm afraid.
What I can recommend is that you use a service like bit.ly to mask any url you want into something more memorable.
