Ideas Bank

We value your unique insight into our products and services and often receive ideas and feedback from our community in a variety of ways. To streamline this process, we’ve created an idea bank where you can post product suggestions, vote for those most important to you, and add comments to existing ideas.

Please correct the issue where donations cannot be moved from one fundraising page to another

Often when doing large events, people mistakenly hit the general donate button when they meant to give to their friend or family member. The work around provided of subtracting amounts from the offline total and having you manually add an amount to the page, then having the fundraiser post that the person gave, is too complex and makes for unclean accounting.

Hi Jamie, I appreciate your response, however, other Blackbaud peer-to-peer products that we have used in the past, do allow this (Kintera Sphere, Teamraiser). It should definitely be something you guys consider moving forward.

Hi there and thanks for the suggestion,

To shed some light on our donation process, once a donation is made, it has a lot of connections to it. Their is the donor (and their respective details), the charity it was made to, the fundraising page and it's event it was made to, the teams page or campaign page it was made to (where relevant), not to forget the details of the donation itself, such as whether it was anonymous or not, opt ins, gift aid status.

That as you can see generates a lot of data associated with the donation and so moving it from one page to another is not that easy I'm afraid. Our system is not built to enable that free movement of data like that.

In the small number of cases where a donor donates to the wrong page - often the charity is wrong - and so giving donors, page owners or organisations the control to move a donation around our system would not be something we'd want to introduce I'm afraid. In such cases, our customer support team will work with the donor and the charity to refund the donation and then the donor is free to make the correct donation again.

    All the best

    Jamie
